41st Annual Dickens of a Christmas | 2026

41-year-old yuletide festival at Heritage Foundation of Williamson County—caroling, crafts & Victorian charm.

Dickens of a Christmas brings Victorian-era charm to historic downtown Franklin with a two-day celebration inspired by Charles Dickens' beloved stories. The festival transforms the picturesque streets into a living scene from 19th-century England, complete with costumed performers, live musicians, and dancers who interact with visitors throughout the event. Kids will love meeting iconic characters like Fagin from Oliver Twist, the ghosts and characters from A Christmas Carol including Scrooge and Tiny Tim, and a festive Victorian Father and Mother Christmas who hand out treats. This family-friendly festival, now in its 41st year, is produced by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County and takes advantage of Franklin's charming historic architecture as its backdrop. It's a wonderful way to experience holiday traditions with a theatrical twist, blending entertainment with a sense of historical character. Whether your family enjoys classic literature, live performance, or simply soaking in seasonal spirit, this event offers something for everyone.
