All Men Are Created Equal Tour

This special 90-minute guided experience explores American history from the nation's founding through the Civil War, with a focus on how the concept of equality was understood and debated throughout these centuries. You'll learn how disagreements over slavery gradually pulled the country apart, examining this pivotal period through the lens of Rippa Villa's own history. This tour is unique to Tennessee and isn't offered anywhere else in the state. The tour is designed for families and history-minded visitors of all ages who want a deeper dive into these important themes. Sessions run at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays, with tickets at $29 per person. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early. All proceeds support the creation of a new exhibit and museum at the Carter House visitor center opening in 2026, which will share the same "All Men Are Created Equal" theme.
