Big Band Dances

Metro Parks Music presents a series of Saturday evening dance events throughout the summer, bringing live swing and jazz performances to Centennial Park. Each night features a different local big band, with over a dozen groups rotating through the schedule. Before the main performances begin, free dance lessons get everyone ready to hit the floor—no experience necessary. The whole family can enjoy live music and dancing under the stars in a relaxed, community atmosphere. Admission is completely free, making this an accessible outing for households of any budget. Food trucks will be on-site (details coming closer to the event dates). Dance lessons kick off at 7 PM, with music and dancing continuing until 9 PM. Various performance locations within the park rotate by date, so check ahead to see where your chosen evening's band will be set up.
