Black Arts Bash

Cheekwood's sixth annual Black Arts Bash is a full-day celebration of Black creativity and culture, welcoming families and all ages. Throughout the day, you'll find live music performances on the Arboretum Lawn Stage, traditional African drum and dance demonstrations, spoken word from local authors, a fashion show featuring local designers, and a visual art exhibition. There are also hands-on activities and a collaborative art project for visitors to join. Local Black chefs will be on-site offering food, and various vendors will have items available for shopping. The event kicks off with storytimes in the morning and continues into the evening with an exciting lineup of Black female musicians and performers. This year's theme, "Next Gen," highlights emerging artists and their cultural contributions. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to experience diverse artistic traditions, support local creators, and be part of a community-focused celebration of Black excellence and innovation.
