Campfire Story Time

Bring your family to an autumn storytelling adventure at the Discovery Center! This session features a rhythmic read-aloud of "Going on a Goon Hunt," a chant-along tale inspired by the classic "bear hunt" story. Kids will join in with sound effects—gurgles, hisses, and other spooky noises—while discovering the fun details hidden in the illustrations. The experience takes place in the Great Outdoors exhibit, creating an engaging atmosphere for young listeners. After the story wraps up, children participate in a Halloween-themed "I Spy" activity, searching for hidden items on a special mat and counting what they find. This program works well for kids who enjoy interactive storytelling and hands-on games. The best part? Campfire Story Time is included with regular museum admission, so there's no extra cost. Programs may change, so it's worth checking ahead if you have specific questions.
