Cheekwood Harvest
Explore pumpkin houses & scarecrow trails at Cheekwood's fall celebration with treats for all ages.
Fall comes alive across Cheekwood's 55-acre botanical gardens during this six-week festival running from mid-September through early November. The estate transforms into a celebration of the season with thousands of pumpkins, a new Marigold River bursting with colorful blooms, and interactive pumpkin houses perfect for photos and exploration. Families can wander the Scarecrow Trail to spot 15 storybook-inspired characters created by local artists, then select a pumpkin to take home. Live music fills weekend afternoons (Saturdays and Sundays, 12–2 PM), so pack a blanket and settle in for a picnic surrounded by fall gardens.
Beyond the main attractions, there's plenty to keep younger children engaged. The TOTS! program runs Tuesday through Saturday mornings with hands-on activities, storytimes, and nature talks in the Children's Garden. Guided mansion tours are also available throughout the festival. Note that advance timed-entry tickets are required for all visitors, and parking can fill up during busy times. The gardens offer a blend of seasonal beauty, entertainment, and interactive experiences that appeal to families with children of all ages.
