Discovery Design Time

Your kids will become junior artists at this hands-on painting workshop themed around monsters. They'll learn three essential brush techniques—using flat, fan, and filbert brushes—to create smooth, fuzzy, and scaly textures on paper. After mastering each method, they'll design their own original monster that showcases all three textures they've practiced. It's a great way for young artists to build confidence with new materials while expanding their artistic vocabulary. Discovery Design Time runs weekly every Thursday at the Discovery Center, with a different theme and activity each session, so kids can return for fresh creative experiences. This particular monster-focused session is perfect for children who enjoy hands-on art projects and want to strengthen their painting skills in a supportive, exploratory environment.
