Discovery Design Time
Turn your favorite photo into a personalized holiday ornament using zero-ink printing.
Discovery Design Time offers a hands-on introduction to modern printing technology combined with holiday craft fun. Kids will use a zero-ink photo printer—a device that applies heat instead of traditional ink to create images—to turn a favorite photo into a personalized keepsake. Guests can bring their own photo or choose from prepared character designs, then print, cut, assemble, and decorate their own holiday ornament using frames, ribbons, and craft supplies to take home.
This weekly program runs every Thursday with a different theme each week, so families can return for new creative experiences. The December 10th session focuses on "Holiday Photos" as part of the museum's 25 Days of Discovery series. Kids will learn vocabulary around printing, assembly, and decoration while exploring how technology and art work together to preserve special moments. This activity works well for children interested in art, design, or how things work.
