Franklin’s Factory: A Historic Walking Tour
Franklin’s Factory: A Historic Walking Tour at Liberty Hall
Step back in time at this guided tour through one of Franklin's most storied landmarks. Led by a knowledgeable staff historian, you'll explore nearly a century of industrial heritage—from the building's origins as a stove factory to its transformation into a thriving bedding manufacturing hub and today's vibrant shopping and dining destination. The roughly 45-minute tour weaves together indoor and outdoor stops, sharing stories about the workers, the products they created, and how this space has evolved into a beloved community gathering place.
This is a great outing for families curious about local history. Tours happen most Wednesday and Friday afternoons from April through October. You'll need comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, as the route includes some outdoor portions (partially covered). Arrive 10 minutes early to meet your guide at The Factory Visitor Center in Suite 11GG, next to White Alligator. Parking is available in the west lot near the water tower or the south lot near the Rusty sculpture.
