Franklin’s Factory: A Historic Walking Tour
Learn Franklin's rich history on a guided walking tour departing from Liberty Hall.
Join a staff historian for a guided stroll through one of Franklin's most distinctive landmarks. Over roughly 45 minutes, you'll explore nearly a century of the building's past—from its origins as a stove factory through its transformation into a bedding plant, and finally to the vibrant retail and dining destination it is today. You'll learn about the people who worked here and the products they created, while discovering the shops and restaurants you can visit now.
The tour splits time between indoor and outdoor areas, so wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Most walking segments are short (about 5 minutes at a time), and outdoor portions are covered where possible. Tours run regularly on Wednesdays and Fridays from April through October. Meet at the Visitor Center in Suite 11GG (next to White Alligator, across from Honest Coffee Roasters) and plan to arrive 10 minutes early.
