Franklin’s Factory Historic Walking Tour

Guided historic tour of The Factory at Franklin, ideal for history-loving families.

Step back into the past at The Factory with a guided tour led by the site's historian. You'll walk through the building's indoor and outdoor spaces while learning about its transformation from a bustling industrial center to the vibrant Franklin destination it is today. The tour covers nearly a century of stories—the people, products, and key moments that made The Factory what it is now. The whole experience takes about an hour, and tours run almost every Wednesday and Friday at 11 AM from April through October. Just wear comfortable walking shoes and come prepared for any weather, since the tour happens rain or shine. If you'd prefer something a bit more fun and social, consider the "Sips & Stories" version instead. This evening tour pairs history with a beverage from The Skylight—your drink comes in a portable cup so you can enjoy it while you walk. It runs almost every Tuesday at 5:30 PM during the same season. Whichever option you choose, plan to arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. Private group tours are also available for groups of 6 to 25 people if you'd like a customized experience for a family gathering or special occasion.
