Franklin’s Factory Historic Walking Tour
Guided tour of a historic mill complex where kids learn Franklin's industrial past.
Step back into The Factory's rich industrial past on a guided walking tour led by the site's staff historian. You'll explore both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout this beloved Franklin landmark, learning the fascinating stories behind its 95-year history—the people, products, and key moments that transformed it from a working factory into the vibrant destination it is today. The tour takes about an hour and happens rain or shine, so come prepared with comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Just plan to arrive 10 minutes early for check-in at The Factory x Franklin Visitor Center (located next to The White Alligator).
Tours run almost every Wednesday and Friday at 11 AM from April through October, making it easy to fit into your family's schedule. If you're looking for something a bit different, the Sips & Stories Happy Hour Tour offers the same historical experience on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 PM and includes a beverage from The Skylight. The Factory also offers private group tours for families or groups of 6–25 people who'd prefer a customized experience—just reach out to arrange details that work for your group.
