Franklin’s Factory: Historic Walking Tour
Guided historical walking tour of The Factory at Franklin revealing the site's Civil War heritage.
Explore The Factory's fascinating 95-year history on a guided walking tour led by the site's staff historian. You'll stroll through both indoor and outdoor spaces, learning about the people, products, and key moments that transformed this former industrial building into the vibrant community hub it is today. Along the way, you'll pass by many of the shops, restaurants, and unique experiences now housed there, bringing the stories to life as you walk.
Tours run year-round (April through October) on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 11 a.m., with sessions lasting about an hour. The tour operates rain or shine, so wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Just arrive 10 minutes early to check in at The Factory x Franklin Visitor Center, located next to The White Alligator. If you'd prefer a more relaxed vibe, the site also offers "Sips & Stories" evening tours on Tuesdays, which include a beverage from The Skylight to enjoy while you tour. Private group tours for 6–25 people can be arranged for corporate events or special occasions.
