Franklin’s Factory Historic Walking Tour

Franklin’s Factory Historic Walking Tour

Walking tour of historic factory grounds exploring Franklin's heritage.

Step back in time and explore The Factory's fascinating 95-year history on a guided walking tour through this transformed industrial landmark. A staff historian will lead you through the building's halls, sharing stories about the people, products, and key moments that shaped this now-beloved Franklin destination. Along the way, you'll see how the space has evolved into today's vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. Tours include both indoor and outdoor stops and run about an hour, so wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather—these tours happen rain or shine. The historic walking tours run almost every Wednesday and Friday at 11 AM from April through October. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early for check-in at The Factory x Franklin Visitor Center (next to The White Alligator). If you'd prefer a different vibe, the "Sips & Stories" happy hour tour offers the same historical experience on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 PM, and includes a beverage from The Skylight. Private group tours are also available for groups of 6–25 people, which you can customize based on your group's interests.
