George Rodgers Clark Junior Ranger Program

George Rodgers Clark Junior Ranger Program

Hands-on junior ranger program exploring local hero George Rogers Clark at Falls of the Ohio State Park.

Kids ages 7 to 12 can dive into local history with this hands-on program centered on George Rogers Clark, the Revolutionary War figure who played a crucial but often overlooked role in claiming the Northwest Territories from British control. Activities focus on surveying techniques and Clark's strategic accomplishments, making history tangible rather than just something to memorize. An experienced volunteer from the Naturalists at Heart program—who also created the popular Lewis and Clark Junior Ranger experience—leads the session. Adults are welcome to join in too. The one-hour program takes place in the Rotunda at Falls of the Ohio State Park and costs just $7 per person. That fee includes free entry to the exhibit gallery, so your family can explore more after the activities wrap up. It's a great way to spend an afternoon learning about the region's heritage while keeping kids engaged with interactive learning.
