Harvest Fest: Waste Less Mural Reveal and East Neighborhood Chili Cookoff

Bring your family to celebrate the unveiling of artist Acacia Barron's new Waste Less Mural at this community gathering centered around food and sustainability. The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting and official proclamation, then moves into hands-on activities and entertainment. Kids can paint pumpkins while parents explore the neighborhood chili cook-off, judged by local celebrity judges, or catch a zero-waste cooking demonstration called "The Whole Pumpkin in 7 Recipes." You'll also find live music from artist Iris Copperman, local food vendors, and a cookbook-swap tent run by Nashville Public Library where you can browse without spending money. Come hungry and ready to stay for a few hours of community connection. The event welcomes donations for the food drive benefiting The Store, and if you're interested in competing in the chili cook-off, you can sign up to participate. This is a great opportunity for families to learn about waste reduction in a fun, celebratory atmosphere surrounded by local artists, musicians, and neighbors. Best of all, it's free to attend and explore everything happening throughout the afternoon.
