Kid’s Club: Learning about LAMP
Kids learn about LAMP at Carnegie Library West End.
Your child will discover how the Carnegie Library's LAMP program works to make books and art available to people with disabilities. Staff members will walk kids through the space and explain the techniques they use, including a hands-on introduction to braille. Kids will also get to create tactile art—pieces designed for people with visual impairments to experience and enjoy through touch.
This hour-long program is designed for kindergarten through fifth grade and fits nicely into the library's Disability Pride 2026 celebration. It's a meaningful way for young learners to understand accessibility and gain appreciation for people with different abilities. The program is free to attend.
