Kids Club

Kids learn about inclusive playground design at Carnegie Library Squirrel Hill.

This Kids Club session explores how neighborhoods can create playgrounds that welcome children of all abilities. Participants will discover what disability means and learn practical ways to ensure every child can play together, regardless of physical or other differences. The hour-long program combines learning with hands-on creativity—kids will sketch their own ideas and build equipment designs during the session. Best suited for school-age children in kindergarten through fifth grade, this event encourages kids to think inclusively about shared spaces. Participants will have the chance to see their creations displayed, making it a rewarding experience. The program is part of the library's broader Disability Pride 2026 celebration, offering a meaningful way for families to engage with important community values.
