Kidsville Outdoors in the Park

Outdoor storytimes at Centennial Park—free summer reading fun.

Kidsville is bringing its beloved Saturday programs outdoors to Centennial Park this March! While their regular home undergoes temporary closure, families can expect the same mix of activities in a fresh setting. Each Saturday features open playtime at the playground starting at 10:30 AM, followed by storytime and a themed craft activity at 11 AM. The four weeks showcase different themes: exploring the playground with the Imagination Library, celebrating Pi Day with circle-themed activities, welcoming spring with nature journals, and stargazing with a special visit from Vanderbilt University's Dyer Observatory. Kids ages 12 and under will find hands-on activity stations available throughout the morning, letting them engage at their own pace. Registration is required and opens at 10:30 AM on event days—advance sign-ups are encouraged to skip the line. Note that sessions will be cancelled if temperatures drop below freezing or if rain is heavier than light. This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy outdoor learning and creativity in a structured but flexible environment.
