Lane Motor Museum Vault Tours
Tour Lane Motor Museum's hidden vault to see hundreds of rare, exotic cars up close.
Lane Motor Museum holds special guided tours of its underground vault most weekends, giving families a chance to explore vehicles beyond what's on display in the main galleries. With over 550 cars and motorcycles in the collection but only about 150 on the main floor at any time, these 45-minute tours let you discover many hidden gems stored downstairs. Tours run at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm (schedules vary weekly, so check ahead). Groups gather near the brochure display in the exhibit area, and tours begin promptly, so arrive about five minutes early. You're welcome to take photos during your tour.
The vault tour costs an additional $10 per person on top of regular museum admission, with a maximum of 30 people per tour. Tickets sell on a first-come, first-served basis at the admissions counter with no advance reservations. Note that accessing the vault requires descending a long, steep staircase, though the museum can arrange alternative access via the back door if needed—just let staff know when you arrive. For safety, all guests must stay within the marked yellow lines, as oil and grease spills make the floor slippery.
