Lane Motor Museum Vault Tours
Explore rare & unique cars usually off-limits to public at Lane Motor Museum's vault tours.
The Lane Motor Museum holds special guided tours of its vault storage area on most weekends, giving families a chance to see far more of the collection than what's on display in the main galleries. With over 550 vehicles in total, the museum can only exhibit about 150 at a time—so these 45-minute tours are your opportunity to explore the rest. Tours depart at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm (schedules vary weekly, so check ahead), and you'll gather near the brochure display before heading downstairs. Photography is welcome, and kids often find it exciting to see the hidden "vault" where cars are stored.
The vault tour costs an additional $10 per person on top of regular museum admission and accommodates up to 30 guests per tour on a first-come, first-served basis—no advance reservations. Note that reaching the vault requires descending a long, steep staircase, though staff can arrange alternate access via the back entrance if needed. Once downstairs, everyone must stay within the marked yellow lines for safety, as oil and grease spills make the floor slippery. Tickets are purchased at the admissions counter on the day of your visit.
