“Love that Dog” by Little Blue Theatre Company

Little Blue Theatre's production of a kids' story about a boy and his dog—intimate family theater.

Jack starts out thinking poetry isn't for him—until his teacher's assignments help him realize he actually has plenty to say. This production brings Sharon Creech's beloved book to life with poems woven in from Robert Frost, William Carlos Williams, and Walter Dean Myers. The story centers on Jack working through big feelings, including the loss of his beloved dog, Sky, all while discovering his own voice. It's heartfelt and funny, perfect for kids who are starting to explore their own feelings through writing and creativity. This show is designed to be sensory-friendly, meaning there are no sudden loud noises or surprises—instead, kids are encouraged to move around, make noise, or take breaks whenever they need to. Doors open 30 minutes early so families can ease in gradually with coloring, books, and snacks. Free parking is available next to the theater and along the street, and there's a playground nearby if you want to arrive early. Tickets are $12 for children and $18 for adults. Bathrooms have changing tables, water and vending snacks are on-site, and a Social Story is available to help kids know what to expect before arriving.
