Nashville Shakespeare Festival: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

Nashville Shakespeare Festival is bringing one of Shakespeare's most delightful comedies to the outdoor bandshell in Centennial Park. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" follows a cast of characters—from star-crossed lovers to mischievous fairies to a group of bumbling amateur actors—as magic and confusion unfold in an Athenian forest. Directed by Jason Spelbring, this production emphasizes the play's humor, wonder, and theatrical fun, making it an engaging experience for families and Shakespeare fans alike. The festival runs Thursday through Sunday from late August into September, with additional performances on Labor Day. Shows begin at 7:00 p.m., though vendors, the gift shop, and a pre-show concert series open earlier in the evening. Tickets are pay-what-you-will with a suggested $20 donation per person. An American Sign Language interpreted performance is available on August 28. The event is presented at Centennial Park's historic bandshell, and reserved seating options are available if you prefer guaranteed spots.
