Open Mic Performer Sign-Ups

Are you a songwriter looking to share your work? The Bluebird Cafe hosts a Monday night open mic where emerging and established songwriters perform for an intimate audience. This is a chance to play your original music in front of fellow musicians and industry folks who value new talent. Performers can play one or two original songs, either solo or with up to two accompanists on stage. The venue provides a Taylor Grand Pacific guitar and weighted digital piano for use, though drums and backing tracks aren't permitted. Each performer may bring one guest to watch. To participate, you'll need to sign up online when slots become available. There are 18 performance spots, and the venue asks that songwriters don't perform in back-to-back weeks to give more people a chance to play. Once you've claimed your spot, you must arrive and check in with the host by 5:15 p.m. on the evening of the show. Guests can attend, though their seating is first-come, first-served and not reserved in advance—they may be seated with other parties.
