Polaris

Slip into your coziest pajamas and head to the Sudekum Planetarium for a special holiday experience. Families will watch Polaris, an award-winning film featuring a curious polar bear and penguin who explore the stars and uncover the mystery of the polar night. The 29-minute show takes young adventurers on a journey around Earth, Mars, and Saturn, making it perfect for kids ages 4–12. Captions are available, and the staff can discuss accessibility options when you arrive. After the film, step into a winter wonderland filled with hands-on snowy science activities. Your family will enjoy hot cocoa with liquid nitrogen marshmallows, snap a photo with James the penguin and Vladimir the polar bear, and take home a printed and digital keepsake photo. Tickets cost $13 for members and $15 for non-members (plus general admission). Explorers Society members and their families get in free and receive a bonus gift. It's a warm, wonder-filled way to celebrate the season together.
