Polaris

Families are invited to wear their coziest pajamas for a special December showing of the award-winning film *Polaris, the Space Submarine & the Mystery of the Polar Night*. This 29-minute adventure follows a curious polar bear and penguin as they explore the stars and uncover the secrets behind the long winter nights at Earth's poles. Their journey takes them from a homemade observatory to fascinating encounters with Mars and Saturn. The film is recommended for children ages 4–12 and includes captions, with additional accessibility options available upon request. After the film, families step into a winter wonderland for hands-on snowy science activities. Kids can enjoy hot cocoa topped with liquid nitrogen marshmallows and snap a photo with James the penguin and Vladimir the polar bear. Every family takes home both a printed and digital keepsake photo. Tickets are $13 for members and $15 for non-members (plus general admission), with free admission for Explorers Society members. The photo keepsake is sponsored by Delta Dental.
