STARS: The Powerhouses of the Universe

Explore the life cycles of stars in this 30-minute planetarium show at the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. The program takes viewers on a journey through space to discover how stars form within clouds of gas and dust, shine brilliantly, and sometimes end in spectacular explosions. Along the way, you'll learn how stars power the entire universe through the energy they release at every stage of their existence. The show features impressive animation created by the National Space Centre in Leicester, with a memorable score performed by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and narration by Mark Hamill. This experience works well for elementary-age children and families curious about astronomy and space science. The planetarium offers captions for the program—just ask a staff member when you arrive. Tickets are available for purchase online, and the center is open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am to 3pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. The Adventure Science Center also provides accessibility information to help you plan your visit.
