TOTS! at Cheekwood

TOTS! at Cheekwood is a drop-in program designed for toddlers and their caregivers, running Tuesday mornings throughout the summer. Each session includes hands-on activities, storytelling, and the chance to watch staff feed and discuss the turtles in the Children's Garden. The weekly themes tie into current art exhibitions and seasonal topics—for instance, the late July session focuses on geese. Storytimes happen at three different times (10 AM, 10:45 AM, and 11:30 AM) so families can choose what works best, and Turtle Talks run at 11:15 AM most weeks. Admission is included with Cheekwood membership or general admission to the gardens. Since the program depends on good weather, it's worth calling ahead or checking their Instagram stories on the morning of your visit if conditions seem uncertain. Bring clothes your little ones don't mind getting messy, plus a sense of adventure—the whole experience is designed to let young children explore, play, and learn about nature and art in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
